The Seasoned Flyer

So as of this last trip to NC Lily has flown five times in her five short months on Earth! Talk about a seasoned flyer. She was good for the most part on the flights, though there was one meltdown at the airport in Atlanta on the way to Cali, where she was overdue to go to sleep for the evening and they kept delaying our flight little by little. She cried and cried and cried in the terminal. Once we got on the plane though she went right to sleep.

On the way back to NC (last week) the woman sitting next to us slept the whole trip and commented on how Lily was such a good baby to let her sleep. Aparently she totally missed when Lil was over-tired and couldn't get comfortable... she eventually found a nice place to sleep though.
Across our laps! Don't you wish it were just that easy?

My Washer came with Bolts

...or so I've been told. I dunno, I wasn't there.

When we decided we would use cloth diapers for Lily we knew we had to get a washer and dryer first thing! So, since I was in California and Jacob was in class (in Georgia) our lovely neighbor Cheryl received the delivery for us. Thank you Cheryl. But what none of us knew was that if we ever wanted to move the washer again (um, hello, we are in the army) we would need the original bolts to secure the washer's drum. Nobody knows what happened to those original bolts. When I had the preliminary phone call from the movers to find out if we had any odd sized furniture I was asked if we had a front loader, and they said they would send someone out to service it. I didn't think anything of it until our things were being loaded into the movers truck and they wouldn't take our washing machine! No one ever came to service, ie put in bolts, so we were calling everywhere we could think of to find someone who had bolts, the correct bolts, for our machine. Long story short, we slept in the house that last night with our air mattress and a washing maching. Someone came to service the machine the next morning and then another set of movers came and took it away. Say a prayer that when we actually get into our house that the washer made it too!

On that note... we are being a little bit picky about housing. We could have gotten into a place on post yesterday, but it wouldn't have been one of the newly renovated homes. We have to wait until the 23rd for the next renovated home to be open. Its hard waiting, but with Lily getting all set to crawl in the next few months, the thought of new carpet was rather nice. That and they knocked out the wall between the kitchen and the living/dining room, which is also more to my liking. So no new address yet. Shawn and Staci Campbell are putting us up (God Bless Them!) until our place is ready. And at the moment I can't get the computer to read my thumb drive so no more pictures yet.

Um, Hi...

Yes, I am still out here! We are now in North Carolina and Jacob had his first day of work today. I have so much to share but haven't had the time to blog it all yet. In the mean time, this makes me laugh so I thought I would share...

This was the first time we put her in her new jumper!
