Happy Halloween!

From my lovely little butterfly,

and Snow White and the Frog Prince.
Wait, those are separate stories aren't they?

Even Jacob got out on the porch to pass out candy!

Safety Girl

...and her sidekick Mellow Boy.

Safety Girl has a Thomas helmet (and knee pads) back at my parents' house, mostly because they have ATVs, but she wears it to ride her tricycle too. Who am I kidding? She wears it ALL the time.

So what did we have to do our first day back in NC? Go out to get Lil a helmet! Which she promptly wore through the commissary and then to lunch.

And then there's her sidekick Mellow Boy, who is so serious and deadpan that it pains me when people try to flirt with him in public. If he does not deem them worthy of a smile I almost feel like I should be apologizing.

Of course, his alter ego Dave don't-put-me-down-or-I'll-scream shows up the moment we get home.

Travel Day

Time to head back to NC.

More Cali pics to come once I get all settled in back at home. And hopefully some halloween pics too.

A Little Bit Sad

We found out today that we didn't get selected for the Joint Chiefs Internship that Jacob applied for. Sucks being in limbo and not knowing what our next assignment will be. Especially because most of the fellas that came back with Jake have either already moved on or know where they will be headed soon.

Oh! And I bought tickets to Cali (for Christmas) and it cost way too crazy much for just three seats and I feel yucky about it! :(

David Likes Popsicles

...and so does Lily!

That was not coached. (Okay, that time was coached, but the first time she did it, it wasn't.)

Future Soccer Star?

I am floored. My two and a half year old is dribbling a soccer ball.

David Likes Ice Cream

Oh, about this much:

Comfortable

Don't we all wish we could watch tv in our underwear on the couch? Rofl!

She's watching Cars, btw.

Bummer!

Aw! Man, my first fail.

We made a mini turkey dinner with my parents yesterday. Roast turkey, sweet potatoes, green beans... Yum! And pumpkin pie. :)

Music

Last evening with Jacob's parents and grandparents tonight. Went to dinner where there was a live Jazz band; oh did Lily ever eat that up! She was dancing her little heart out and little girl has some pretty nice moves. Even Dave enjoyed the music, rocking on the table.

:) Makes me happy to have a couple of music lovers.

Ugh

I thought it would be a good idea to look into buying airline tickets home for Christmas, now that we know leave dates. Boy, was I wrong!

How depressing. Why does it have to be so expensive?!?!

First Tooth!

Eight months old and Dave is finally getting his first tooth. Dave's been all kinds of "fun" lately, but today that first sharp little nub broke through so I'm hoping the fussing and ear tugging will subside. Otherwise, we get to do the always fun, urgent care trip while on vacation. Oh please, let it just be teething and not an ear infection!

Wishing

I'm wishing I had a way to get my pictures from my camera to the Internet while traveling. We've got some great pics from the pumpkin patch and from Dave's baptism that I want to share. Alas, it will have to wait until at least the weekend....

Travels

This evening finds us north of Fresno, about half an hour, in Coarsegold, Ca. We're visiting Jake's parents and grandparents for the week. Thinking about a trip to a local children's museum and maybe a date with my hubby while there are grandmas aplenty to leave the kiddos with. ;)

Baptized!

We're in Altadena, CA at the moment. And today we celebrated David's baptism at the same parish where I went to school as a kid. :)
Dave was "that kid" and screamed through half the ceremony, only to fall asleep two minutes before it was time to pour water over his head. Nap interrupted! He then slept through most of the after party, silly boy.

Dave also just learned to blow raspberries this week, so this is his new favorite face.

At the Soccer Game

How my kids kill time at our cousin's soccer game:

Watching TV

So "relaxed." Silly girl.

Giving thought to another Blog 365. Not sure how to make the time, but it seems like it's all or nothing.
