She found her laugh!!

Oh my... this was too much fun! I heard her laugh once last week and then she lost it. Not anymore!

To the Pool!

We took Lily to the pool for the first time today! There is a nice indoor wading pool at the gym here on post. It even has a mushroom fountain and a platform with bubblers. Lily wasn't sure at first, it was a little cool, but once she got used to it she was fine. She actually even started gurgling and cooing towards the end, though we couldn't get her to do much kicking. Oh! and she wanted nothing to do with laying back with her head on my shoulder to float! Boy, did she ever tell us about that one!

It was fun, and it sure did tire our sweet girl out!

How do you know when your diaper is too small?

Okay so Lily is a cloth diaper baby for the most part. But we do have disposables for when we travel, for long days out running errands and for nights when I desperately need the extra sleep the disposable affords me.

Well last night was one of those nights. This morning Lily actually managed to pee through the one I had put on her not three hours earlier. The front of the diaper seemed fairly dry but the back was super heavy. So I put on another one on her, but we never made it back to bed. She immediately blew out the second one... right up the back! Ew. We were trying to get through the dozen or so size ones we have left, but it looks like it is time to move on to the size twos.

Any suggestions on what to do with the left over ones?

Two Month Well-Baby Exam

Lily and I just got back from her two month well-baby... so we were a week late... that's actually pretty good for being seen at a military facility!

The shots weren't too bad. She was asleep when we went in, I had to wake her to give her the oral rotavirus (which they say is sweet) and then she started to fall back asleep on the table. That didn't last long! A tandem shot in each leg and a second shot in her left leg and it was over. She startled and by the time she started to cry I was picking her up to cuddle her, where she fell back asleep on my shoulder. I'm sure she figures she just had a bad dream.

Lily weighs 12lbs 13oz and measures 23.5 inches tall. Her head is 16inches around. Which places her in the 90th percentile for weight and head size and 75th percentile for height, according to this doctor. My baby book says she's in the 90th percentile for all three. But as she is a solely breastfed baby, I am really not too surprised. Her percentile should drop off between three and 12 months.

So in answer to the question that everyone has been asking... Yes, she is a little on the big side!

Edit: (24 May) I just realized this means my child really should be fitting into the 6 month size clothes! Whew, I was just a little concerned, lol.

Seriously!

There is no hair product involved here. We just didn't brush it down after a bath and this is what we got. Seriously!

Poor child... her mom is making fun of her. :(

Oh the places she can sleep....

Must be nice to be able to fall asleep just about anywhere!

Just because...

Look... I have Mommy's crooked smile...

Hanging out with our friend Jacques

So earlier today Lily got really fussy and Jacob and I could do nothing to console her. She was changed, she was fed, she was burped and she wasn't in any obvious pain. Took us a little while to realize that she was just bored of the two of us... Jacques the Peacock, on the other hand, was much more interesting.

Oh, and I am making the sweater for me in the same color as the picture... I think it will look good with most jeans/pants/skirts I have.

New Project

It's been a while since I had the time to knit. Not that I really have the time now, lol. The last thing I made was a baby sweater.

But, since my birthday was Saturday, I am starting a new project for myself! I'm just waiting for the yarn to get here (I love shopping online!) Meanwhile my fingers itch to get started.
What are you currently working on? :)

Just wanted to share a smile :)

Our sweet girl is getting more and more responsive every day. Usually it's first thing in the morning, but today we caught her in the afternoon!

I don't get it...

One second she was crying herself hoarse and the next second this...
