Furniture

Do you remember the lovely pottery barn cabinet I finally let myself buy?  I owed you a picture of it in place.  And since my pottery barn buffet arrived yesterday, I figured now was a good time. :-)

Please excuse the crafting mess.  Yes, we now have out both sewing machines!  But it's not just me, Amy is sewing too!  She's making a semi-home made quilt and I am making cloth napkins.

And my new little buffet sits nicely in the corner, happy to hide whatever random thing I throw inside.  The drawers are already full of office supplies.

Ballerina Firefighter

What can I say? She loves Ernie and her pretty skirt.

We were out outlet shopping while Jacob and Gramma were still here.  Lily pleaded for a ride so while Gram and I went into the kitchen store, Daddy stayed with Lily so she could have a go.

The skirt was a Mommy impulse buy.  I am living vicariously through my kid.

"The fire is that way!"

And I love her.

Back to Normal

The house is quiet tonight.  All our visitors are gone.  Gramma was the last to leave this afternoon.  It feels like it's been a crazy busy month since David arrived, though I know we haven't done much of anything.  That's right.... I said month... my son is already a month old.  Oh, how time flies.

Jacob left Saturday morning after a lovely R&R and paternity leave that gave him 25 days at home.  We did a whole lot of nothing, just the way we like it.  :)

My dad and my brother came out with Mom for a long weekend and then Mom stayed another week to help out.  God Bless Her!  She held one child while I delt with the other, kept them out of the kitchen so I could cook (oh how I do enjoy cooking) folded my laundry and even cleaned my microwave.

It's quiet tonight...  maybe too quiet.

Driving Song

We're on our way to do some outlet shopping and Lee is serenading us. :)

Birthday Girl's Photo Shoot

In the "watch me grow" tradition, we took Lee's pictures in my cocktail dress again this year!

Can You Believe It?!

My Mom and Dad and Brother are here to visit! The boys for the weekend and Mom for another week after that. :)

My Mom just scolded me and told me to stop appologizing for my mess. She says that's what she's here for, to help take care of her baby and her baby's babies.

I have a three week old son.

It's Lily's birthday!!! I have a two year old. Happy Birthday Lil!

Picky, Picky

Mr Pacifiers Are Yucky found his thumb.

Hmm...

It has come to my attention that I am not very good at keeping up the blog and the facebook account simultaneously.  I think I need to try harder.

David had his two week well baby this afternoon.  Didn't he just get here? How is he two weeks old already?!  He has gained a whole pound and is just about the 80th percentile for height and weight.  Though his head is only at the 50th percentile... he takes after his dad there. ;)

Lily is quite taken with him and it is very clear he is her baby.  She helps me by getting diapers and always wants to give him his pacifier... which he isn't interested in in the slightest.  The only regressing I have noticed is that she shows interest in nursing again.  I take total blame for that... I was so engorged when my milk came in that I asked her if she would nurse.  I have no real problem nursing her again.  It's still good for both of us AND she learns to share with her brother.

Is It Just Me?

We're no Walters family, (I intended to insert a link to Beth's can-you-guess-which-kid-it-is photo rich blog entry here, but I couldn't find it.)  but I think my kids look so alike as infants!

They even have the same stick up hair... but I couldn't find a picture of him where you could see it clearly.

Want A Chuckle?

I'm already so tired of wearing maternity pants, I went out and bought a pair of jeans bigger than all my other pairs... to hold me over until I can get back into my old clothes.

:-)
